Point-Cab, Laser Scanning layout software - US Distributor

Point Space Metrology is the US distributor for Laser Scanning Europe’s Point-Cab layout software.

Point-Cab is the first application that automatically creates―at the push of a button―floor plans and sectional views. The goal of the development team has been to create an extremely user-friendly interface design.

The program creates a visual representation of laser scanning data. The result is more expressive of real physical geometry than individual points of point clouds. Images and representations of sections are a prerequisite for an easy modeling in CAD programs.

The program supports most of the common CAD programs and construction tools through standard interfaces. You may use the results in ArchiCAD, Google SketchUp, Revit and other tools.

LAV25A2

Point Space Metrology worked with NATC to reverse engineer an LAV25A2. The LAV25A2 scanned with the FARO Photon 80, at high resolution in 1 hour.

After a quick 3 minute alignment, the scans were processed by Mimic Studios with Polyworks and Geomagic, the final deliverable being the fully modeled underbelly of this aging military vehicle. Our customer was pressed for time but could not sacrifice any spent resources for lower levels of quality. Ultimately they received the most accurate deliverable in the shortest time possible.

SONGS - San Onofre Nuclear Power Generating Station

Point Space Metrology has a history working with the nuclear industry. Our consulting efforts have provided clean work flow and procedures to create optimally accurate point cloud information. From this true to life as-built information SONGS works with Polyworks to run detailed pipe geometry and layout analysis. The work at SONGS is a key contributor to further increasing safety, efficiency and meeting and exceeding NRC regulations.
